Saudi Arabia’s King Salman patronized the closing ceremony of the Fourth King Abdulaziz Camel Festival.The king, along with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, welcomed dignitaries and guests from the Gulf countries, including Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah, Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al-Maktoum, Sheikh Abdullah Hamad Al-Khalifa representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Sheikh Saad Mohammed Al Saadi , Minsiter of Sports Affairs , representative of the Sultanate of Oman.During the ceremony, chairman of the Camel Club’s board and general supervisor of the festival, Fahd bin Falah bin Hithlin, thanked King Salman for his patronage and the “festival has become a destination for all (camel) owners within”.Within the Kingdom and serves as a platform “to bring together people from the Gulf and the Arab world.” “This great gathering is a destination for all those interested in this heritage throughout the
world,” he added. Bin Hithlin also said that the club launched a package of economic decisions that will contribute to the development of this sector, and constitute an attractive factor for investments.He expressed greetings for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for launching the names ‘ The Bairaq of the Founder, The Sword of the King and the Shield of the Crown Prince on the Festival awards.Custodian fo the Two Holy Mosques handed over Kign Abdul Aziz Award for winners of the camel races. At the first round, Zamoul open, Hamlol from the U.A.E Presidency came first – trainer Ali Jumail Al Wuhabi. At the second round for Zamoud general , Sairafi owned by Mohammed Bin Rashid bin Hamad al Kutbi came first. At the Hail open round Seif from the U.A.E Presidency came first. At the second round Al Shahinah owned by Mansour Saad Mohammed Al Ahbabi came first.
He the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani crowned the winners of the camel-racing festival for the sword of HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani,which concluded on Thursday at Al Shahaniya camel racetrack,amid wide participation from GCC countries.He Sheikh Joaan honoured the winners in the four main events for camels owned by the sheikhs. The camel ‘Shama’ owned by HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Hamad bin Khalid alThani won the title of the Golden Sword, while the camel ‘Al Rasiyah’owned by Al Shehania camels was awarded golden shalfa.He Sheikh Saud bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz bin Khalid Al-Thani, the owner of the camel ‘Baroud’ and Al Shahaniya camels, the owner of the camel ‘Maarik’, received the golden daggers.He Sheikh Joaan awarded the winners of the final four main rounds.He presented the silver sword to Abdullah bin Saeed al-Eidah, the owner of Al Sailiya camels.He Sheikh Joaan awarded the silver shalfa to Mohamed Ali bin Jaznah, the owner of the camel ‘Omaniyat’, while the silver daggers were given to Ali bin Hamad bin Maqareh, the owner of the camel ‘Habash’and Salem Amer al-Madhoshi,the owner of the camel ‘Monsef’.The final day of the camel-racing festival for the sword of HH the father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin khalifa Al-Thani witnessed tough competition to get the 8 silver and gold badges.
